THE NETHERLANDS ‘BEST PREPARED’ FOR AUTONOMOUS CARS, CYCLISTS MAKE ARRIVAL DIFFICULT

Bron: NOS, 12-02-2019

Research shows that the Netherlands, from a group of 25 countries, is still best prepared for autonomous cars. A year after the consultancy firm KPMG published the results of their international research, the Netherlands is still at the top of the list.

A real Dutch icon, however, seems to stand in the way of driving autonomous cars massively: cycling.

The NOS has written an informative article on this subject, in which among others Bert van Wee, Professor of Transport Policy TU Delft, and Bart van Arem, Professor of Transport Modelling and co-founder of the RADD, talk about how cyclists can influence the future of the autonomous car.
