SENSOR USE WITH AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

TU Delft is a progressive and continuously developing environment in which a lot of research is being done into new technologies. One of these technologies is the autonomous vehicle, which is being worked on fanatically not only at the RADD.

We are proud to announce that the work of our colleagues from the 3mE faculty of TU Delft is highlighted in a recently published article by de Volkskrant. In the article, Dariu Gavrilla, professor of Intelligent Vehicles, talks about sensor fusion within an autonomous vehicle. “An autonomous driving car usually has three types of sensors,”  says Gavrilla. ” Each sensor has its own strength and weakness. […] To give a car good visibility, all three of them must therefore be used, using the strength of each sensor optimally.
